No charges filed in accidental shooting at Inlet Square Mall
Horry County police will not file charges in connection with the accidental shooting at Inlet Square Mall Tuesday.
Just before a veterans pinning ceremony, a woman was shot in the leg when a gun went off inside another woman's purse.
The bullet went into the victim's right leg and lodged in her left leg.

Wonder how she was carrying in the purse. While not a fan of off body carry, sometimes there is not another option. I either use a holster purse or a pocket holster in a compartment of the bag that ONLY carries the gun. That way no pens, keys, lipgloss or other necessary items get in the trigger guard. I also try to NEVER set my purse down, it is either across my body, hanging on the coat hook in the stall or if I am eating out it is between my feet and at church next to me on the pew or by my feet.

I feel like this is still an ND as if the gun were holstered properly there should have been no way for the trigger to be engaged. JMPHO. Hope everyone heals well.

...the comments after the article are representative of what we'll face under similar circumstances...in the thinking of those on a civil or criminal jury...

You're not a fan of do-overs, eh?

Ummm... .how does the lady with the unsolicited hole in her leg get a do-over?

What are do-overs, exactly?
Well, you go back in time, pretend the {whatever} didn't happen and do it over right. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

An example would be mis-hitting a golf tee shot that sputters 50 yards. "Time for a do-over", and hit a tee shot again (similar to a mulligan).

Works with golf. With firearm? No so well.

Yep
It's the same for driving a car and hitting something or someone. There may not be any crime committed but the driver is responsible for any damage they cause with their car, even if it was accidental or negligent.
