...more and more...the rich and popular, be they in film, music, or sports...are not held to the standard of decency that us common workin' folks are...and they get a pass for things we'd get run out of town for...idol worship is alive and well...

Which makes it even more weird. I can understand how the flag code works sometimes. It still irks me.

There's no way on Earth that I'd order my States flags lowered for Whitney.

I've been thinking about which, if any, "celebrities" that would be on the list I'd say yes to...
The only one that earns consideration from me is Mohamed Ali.... Maybe.
There are lots of reasons to have reservations about Ali.

Anyone on your yes list? :bigear:

If they're gonna do it for her...
Then, when the time comes, I plan to lower my state flag for Willie Nelson.
May that be a long time coming.

the US flag should NOT be lowered to half staff for anyone but Military, Governors, Congress/senate or federal law enforcement pesons. I don't even believe that the US Flag should be lowered for state employees or local fire and police. State flags are governed by the governor and that person shall make decisions for that flag.

I don't get the flag thing at all. I wonder what would happen if someone refused to do it. While WH's death is sad and tragic for her family, it's like I always tell my kids, if you make bad choices you better be willing to accept the consequences. Too bad she wasn't as revered when she was alive.

...could you please post the authority for that listing???
