Multi-state, travelling bodyguards - Same rules as us?

This may or may not be within the knowledge of the forum's members,
but I've been wondering about various states' laws, as they pertain to the bodyguards of rich people like Donald Trump
(who has a rare NYS CHL).

As the political candidates travel around at first, they may have to rely on hired bodyguards until they reach the status
of having Secret Service bodyguards.

But how about the security people who guard CEO's, rock stars, hip hop stars, and other wealthy people who travel a lot?

I kind of assume that these people are armed with handguns most of the time, but if they have to abide by the usual anti-2A
laws in Kali, NYS, NJ, Mass, and other restrictive states, then they might have to just rely on martial arts, pepper spray, or Tasers.

Does anyone know how these types of security people travel with their guns/other weapons? It would seem that they would have
to lock them away in the trunks of vehicles to comply with the law, but how about if they are travelling on their employer's private jet?

TIA / SIA

Most states have a PPO certification/commission that allows PPO's to carry a concealed weapon, and those PPO's are also often contracted by state so that the applicable laws are obeyed. Alot of PPO's have certification/commission in several states so that they may travel with the VIP, and private aircraft not contracted aircraft are at the discretion of the owner, contracted aircraft are subject to all FAA and gestapo regulations.

My guess is that many of them hire ex-federal agents.

Some are multi-state certified, and some just go without a firearm when they're in a state that doesn't allow them to carry.

...Texas, for instance, requires a bodyguard be licensed under the PI license...to do the job, armed or not, so I think an ex(retired) fed would have to be licensed also...the ticket for a fed or a retired LEO wouldn't fulfill the job license requirements...which may be less or more stringent in other states...I don't think there'd be a simple solution...mounds and mounds of paperwork and research...

It's different for a bodyguard. Everybody "knows" that he's carrying.

Don't know about other states but TX requires anyone working any form of security to be lic as such. In order to carry in plain clothes while "working" you must have a level 3 certification and be assigned to protect one and only one individual during that assignment.
