“Dear friends of the United States, Mexico needs your help to stop this terrible violence that we’re suffering,” Calderon said in English during the unveiling ceremony.

“The best way to do this is to stop the flow of automatic weapons into Mexico,” he added.
Someone doesn't understand what they are talking about.

Of course he does. It's not about reality, it's about sound bites and politics.

:iagree:

IIRC, Calderon was invitied to the USA, to Washington, D.C. and gave a speech saying basically that if us Americans would give up our guns, the cartels wouldn't have any guns. He, and several individuals within the current administration, including Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano, kept repeating percentage numbers concerning the amount of American firearms recovered in Mexico by law enforcement down there. Of course, said numbers were inaccurate and skewed like crazy. Then, this administration needed to bolster said numbers, and viola, a shut-down Bush-era BATFE program was resurrected as "Fast and Furious" to ensure there were at least some firearms that could be traced back...then they could all trumpet how they were right all along and push for some more gun control laws under the guise of "fighting the drug wars" and "stopping the weapons flow to the cartels". Unfortunately, it blew up in their faces when that agent got killed with one of those firearms. BUT, despite all that, they have the audacity to build this sign. Their deceit and hypocrisy, along with that of the so-called mainstream media, know no bounds. :mad5

Of course he does! What he really means is he wants us to bring revolvers and resurrect the Old West Mexico. :smash: :

:iagree: Sadly, I can't argue with that.

Calderon's country is ruled by drug lords and gangs, but the problem is not with him, his government, or his policies. Naturally, the problem lies with America's gun laws in his opinion, but what confounds me is that our own politicians tend to agree with this. Canada also borders the U.S. and they are not overrun by criminals, so perhaps the problem is not as simple as abolishing the 2nd amendment.
