Uncle Ted endorses Mitt Romney

I reckon that if Ted Nugent is not worried about Romney's 2nd Amendment record, maybe the rest of us can relax a little bit. I don't think Uncle Ted would give his endorsement to someone that he did not trust with maintaining the integrity of the 2nd Amendment.

Romney is far from anyone's ideal candidate. But did we learn nothing from 2008? If we scoff at a less-than-ideal candidate (McCain then) we get our worst nightmare (Obama). The potential of a BHO second term FRIGHTENS me.

If Romney can finally solidify the conservative base (a BIG if that McCain failed to do), he CAN beat Obama. And that's really all that matters at this point. As long as GOP controls at least one house of Congress, Romney won't need to flip flop into anti-2A decisions. The man follows the winds (unlike Obama, who thinks he makes the weather), so if pro-2A forces in Congress can control (or at least block) the wind, we'll live thru a Romney Administration much better than Obama 2.0

It's time to be pragmatic.

I do not trust Romney as a 2A supporter, but I trust the Republicans in congress to guide his executive decision making. My greatest fear, however, is that the Republicans will not address our massive deficit with any more honesty than the current administration. That, however, is a topic for another thread ;-)

That is what I've been trying to get at when I talk to folks on this subject...I'm fairly certain ANY Republican President can be kept "honest" with a good solid Republican majority in Congress, as regards firearms laws. That is why, even though he is NOT my first choice, I will have no problems voting for Romney in the general election against the Community-Organizer-in-Chief. Just like I voted for McCain...I want to be ON RECORD that I voted AGAINST the guy occupying the White House.

Obama is SO bad that I for one have come to the conclusion that I will vote for whoever wins the GOP nomination (and thanks to redistricting and the courts, I won't get a say in who it is anyway).

He's a Marxist revolutionary. We know that once the law stops working for them, they go to other means. I think we still have a chance to turn things around...but it has to start with getting Obama OUT. If the Repub doesn't act conservative enough in the next 4 years, I"ll support a conservative candidate to challenge him in the primary.

But it has to start with Obama being sent back to that cesspool known as Chicago.

Breitbart said it well in his C-Pac speech (starting around the 12 min mark)

I don't care who the candidate is...I will march behind whoever our candidate is because if we don't, we lose. There are 2 paths...one is America, and the other is Occupy.

Just an aside........ "pragmatism" ≠ "trust." I am a proponent of the Ronaldus Maximus School of Statesmanship: "Trust.....but verify."

But that said, pragmatism is absolutely called for at this point. The bloodbath that has been the republican primary for the past few months has been nothing short of a factory of quotes for why voters should NOT vote for a republican—regardless of who he is. This will absolutely KILL us in the general election unless republicans can stop slitting one anothers' throats. Our candidates should STOP explaining why voters should not vote for the other guy, and START explaining why voters should vote FOR HIM.

In any ideological contest where it is successfully presented that our essential personal liberties are what's at stake here, the republican candidate will beat the democrat candidate every single time. All he has to do is simply list the laws rammed down our throats by democrats which further restrict the freedom of the individual; that strike at the pocket book of the individual; that place demands upon the individual..........and the democrat loses that argument every time.

BUT, this is not a strategy which will be available to us once the republican party makes its nominee known IF REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES DON'T STOP TELLING EVERYONE WHY THEIR REPUBLICAN OPPONENTS ARE NO GOOD LIARS WHO ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!! Voters will not remember or care about what the republican nominee has to say—even if he is factually correct and honest about it—when the democrat owned media start pulling out all the quotes from the primaries from those republicans who were not nominated, about why voters should not vote for the nominee. You can take it to the bank that the DNC will use ALL of those quotes in their political advertising. Republicans stabbing other republicans in the back. That's just retarded.

When I first became a republican, one of the things that drew me to the party was its intellectual honesty. But this particular primary has been the biggest waste of oxygen in any primary I can remember, from either party. It isn't enough that republicans shot themselves in the foot, but they did it again and again and again, proving that—politically speaking—they have all the intellectual horsepower of a Plaxico Buress. SHAME them. All of them. Ron Paul in particular.

Dumb. DUMB. DUMB!!!

:iagree: with TAM. It seems to me that the Republican candidates are bent not only on suicide but also on genocide.

What's really dumb is somebody with left wing baggage running for the Republican nomination and not expecting the baggage to weigh them down, ESPECIALLY afterseeing what happened with McCain in 2008.

It's a bit like being endorsed by Sarah Palin.
