Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s testimony asserting that the United Nations and NATO have supreme authority over the actions of the United States military, words which effectively declare Congress a ceremonial relic, have prompted Congressman Walter Jones to introduce a resolution that re-affirms such behavior as an “impeachable high crime and misdemeanor” under the Constitution.

Secretary Panetta voiced an opinion that is shared deeply by more than half of the elected officials (on both sides of the isle) in D.C. What they are doing is so important that no trivial, archaic piece of paper (well two pieces of paper if you count the Declaration of Independence) written over 200 years ago is going to get in their way. Of course, when all else fails, defer to the International rule of law for justification of the usurping of power and the breaking of Constitutional prohibitions.

Everyone knows that the Founding Fathers really wanted an oligarchy, not a Republic and just had trouble designing it correctly.

He's just reflecting the administrations views on the matter. None of them, from Obama down think the Constitution is worth the paper it was written on. :mad5

:iagree:

They want to make the UN the arbiter of all decisions...that's their "international law". BTW, I really don't care for the UN, not in the very least.
