Flying with holsters?

I'm catching a flight from ABI to PHX in a few weeks. I've traveled with checked guns many times, but wondering about leaving my gun and mag holsters on my belt to be able in PHX to retrieve the gun and mag and holster at other end. Would empty holsters cause unneccessary and unwanted advances from the overly friendly TSA?

I'd say it would almost definitely spark extra screening. I wouldn't do it.

you have to remove your belt before going through security.
So just remove your belt and holster(s) and put them in the tray, and put them back on after passing through.
Personally, I would rather not fly with a holster strapped on, just due to the seat sizes and squeezing through

The last time I checked the weapons. I had a Bond Arms 45 colt (make in Texas) which fits the coat. So Bags, rental car, load bags , weapon in coat, drive to hotel. The holster requires time and movement not seen in rental areas. I did move 1911 to carry bag.
The magazine are required to be unload that is problem. Pistols are quick loading. The Bond arms is a 2 sec load from bag to pocket. Just my two cents.

If you decide to wear them, arrange for that rental car much later than planned and brush your teeth for the television cameras, and make sure you keep your chin up and smile. Also, it's always a good idea to look just above the camera lens so it captures you well.

Yeah... I was tempted so I could go right back to carrying after landing and going to the restroom to reholster. Don't think I will, just wondering if anyone had and the result.

It is sad to think that you have to alter your plans so you don't get harassed or detained for doing something that is perfectly legal.

If you're going to the bathroom anyway, won't take more than a couple extra seconds to put a holster on as well. Not saying I like it, but reality is what it is....
If the wunderkinds at the TSA are dumb enough to not allow a Medal of Honor winner to board with his medal because it might be a weapon...probably easier to just avoid the drama.
