Good news today:

I registered for summer and fall semesters and learned that I will for sure be graduating in December with a BA. I was not positive if all the classes would fall into place, but it looks like God is smiling down on me for once :hurry:

Makes me a happy man... figured I would share my happiness. Hope the rest of you have had a good Monday!

History with a Special Education Minor...

Started out wanting to be a teacher.... after several semesters in the public schools I decided that it was not going to work. I looked into "Plan B," Law Enforcement... decided it was a much better fit for me anyway. Too much time invested in History/SPED to change majors without spending an extra 2 semesters in school, LEO generally don't care what your major is.. so I stuck with what I had.

Anyway, provided nothing crazy or unexpected happens I will graduate Magna Cum Laude with a BA in History. Yippee!

:thumbs2: Congratulations. IMO, a college degree is a good thing to have. It shows that one has the tenacity to reach a goal. Magna Cum Laude shows that you persue excellence. And that is a good thing.

I have know history and SPED majors who have had long and satisfying careers. A friend with a history degree became a blackjack dealer in Reno and then worked for the USPS. Another friend got a degree in Physical Education and went on to obtain a SPED teaching certificate. He retired after 30 years teaching Special Education and coaching high school football.
