I'm not one to shove music in anyone's face, but I've got to give a shout out to a great band from my home town of Duluth, MN.
*If you don't appreciate the goodness that is Bluegrass, go ahead and leave the thread. You won't like it*
I've gotten an advanced copy of their new album, Stars and Satellites, and I'll just go ahead and say "BUY IT!" (April 10th release date, but you can pre-order now). They're a great group of guys and they happen to make some incredible music. If you haven't heard of them, I recommend you check them out. Good 'ol American music! (funny side story, they were a punk rock band, until they had their instruments stolen...so they now play the 'grass)

Good stuff! One of the commenters called it "frenetic picking". I'd agree with that.
+1 on MN too. (I was born in Bloomington).

Good stuff.
From the title of the post, I was expecting terrapin carnage!
Not music, bluegrass or anything else.
I enjoy getting introduced to new music. Thanks for the post pbwalker.

Wasn't Ol #7 a contestant in a "so you wanna be a rock star" reality show a few years ago?

Haven't seen the show but I picked up on them after they filled in as the prison band on one episode of Justified and I looked em up.

This is a childhood friend of mine from Colleyville, TX. He currently tours with Billy Bob Thornton and also teaches guitar classes. He started playing bluegrass but can also play blues, country, rock & roll, and whatever you call Billy Bob's Boxmasters music.

I closed my eyes while listening to this and saw myself, in my minds eye, at a Grateful Dead concert.
I really don't mean anything negative here... I thought Brad was great... and I've been to a few Dead shows back in the day.
Always enjoy new-to-me music threads.. Thanks.!

Yeah, I was looking for either an Earl Scruggs-type bluegrass video that was decent quality or at least one that he wasn't by himself and hawking Takamine guitars and couldn't find any, so I went with the rockin' one.
I don't know why he doesn't have any similar in quality to the ones in the OP above.
