While eating lunch with my wife in a restaurant today, I started thinking about what I would do if some maniac came in and started shooting up the place. I usually carry in my strong side front pants pocket, but when I'm seated it's very hard to draw. And, of course, if I stood up, the maniac would probably shoot me down immediately. And because of flexibility problems (and the aformentioned problem of movement drawing the shooter's attention), ankle carry is out of the question. Seems to me that IWB, especially AIWB, under an untucked shirt is a good solution. However, being short and possessed of more than ample girth, AIWB is uncomfortable, plus it might not be very concealing. How about IWB at the 3:30 position under an untucked shirt? Or????

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'm the same, and carry method is something I'm still struggling with. I'm also left-handed which adds another twist.

I've tried almost everything. IWB of any type gets really uncomfortable for me after an hour or two. Even a VersaCarry with an LC9 gets uncomfortable after a while.

I've been carrying the LC9 in a SmartCarry the past few days. It conceals great, and is comfortable for a while longer than IWB, but with the LC9 being built for a right-handed shooter, and the extra draw time for a SmartCarry, I don't think it's something I will use long term.

I do use a good holster belt, and for everything other than the SmartCarry, I have to wear suspenders. It keeps my pants from falling down completely, and also helps hold the weapon up closer to me, rather than leaning outwards from the top as they tend to do on me. (which of course doesn't help concealment)

That being the case, I've decided my own best option is OWB holster carry in a leather holster, with my preferred EDC Glock 19. I do have some 511 Tactical concealed carry shirts that help a lot with concealment.

Every person's body is different, as is their wardrobe. Most folks seem to find the Crossbreed SuperTuck and/or CompTac M-Tac pretty comfortable, particularly with a good holster belt and a garment like a t-shirt between their skin and the holster. Each of these distributes the weight across a wide portion of the belt and also minimizes width by placing the belt loops away from the main body of the holster. They are also adjustable for cant and depth. I have no personal experience with the Crossbreed SuperTuck, but my M-Tac is all-day comfortable and helps conceal my M&P9c quite well at 3:00 to 3:30.
