Man crashes truck into apartment, sheds clothes, attacks woman
So, if someone said to this woman "Today, an out of control crazy naked man is going to choke you out - for real," do you think she'd want to carry a gun then?
When does anybody believe it can happen to them?
...a man drove his vehicle into an apartment building, then removed his clothes and attacked a female bystander in the city Wednesday.
. . .Anthony D. Parrish, 45, Rossford, drove a 2004 GMC pick-up truck at a high rate of speed northbound on Oak Street when he approached a bend in the street near Dixie Highway.
The truck then struck a curb in the 100 block of Oak Street, causing the vehicle to go airborne. It subsequently struck the porch of a nearby house, landed on a car parked in the driveway, and slid into the side of an apartment building.
. . .
Parrish, who sustained minor injuries in the crash, exited the truck and then reportedly stripped off his clothing and began chasing an unidentified female who was walking nearby. He reportedly began to choke the woman before he was tackled by two citizens from the neighborhood.

He must have had his seatbelt on. That is the first thought that came into my head. Am I damaged goods?
Seriously though, based on the description of what happened to his car, I really am surprised that he was able to get himself undressed, chase down a victim, and choke her out.
Parrish was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for evaluation and treatment.
It was unclear Thursday morning if Parrish has been released into police custody.
It is also unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.

If they didn't play a role in this incident this guy has a sleeveless jacket and a padded room waiting for him.

I was editing my post and reposting at the exact same moment, with the same sentiment.

He must of been pretty upset about something? You reckon he's a Democrat or a Republican?

Most Northern States it's pretty darn hard to tell any difference between the two.

I was just re-reading Rory Miller's
Facing Violence: Preparing for the Unexpected when I read the OP. It reminded me of something Miller wrote about when discussing dealing with mentally disturbed people:
Excited delirium is something that cops, Emergency Room doctors and coroners are entirely too familiar with. It usually presents as an enraged, frothing, naked man howling and growling and breaking glass, sometimes attacking anything he can reach. The nakedness is the man’s reaction to a skyrocketing body temperature (liver temperature of 108F was recorded at one autopsy). I don’t know why they break glass. They can be enormously strong and fast. My team dealt with one who pulled six concrete screws out of the wall with his fingers in order to break a stainless steel mirror to use as a weapon.
I don’t know what causes it. Most are on stimulants, cocaine or meth or PCP, but not all. Most have a history of stimulant abuse but not all. Some have a history of mental illness, but not all. Most are fine when they finally get to sleep and wake up, except for whatever harm they did themselves smashing fists through glass. But not all. The 108-degree liver temperature was not survivable, I think.
Miller, Rory (2011-04-01). Facing Violence: Preparing for the Unexpected (p. 88). NBN_Mobi_Kindle. Kindle Edition.
Off-topic but important: Miller's book is excellent, I think anyone here (and anyone not here, for that matter) should read it. It's also very inexpensive -- $7.49 on Kindle, and you can get a free Kindle reader for your PC or (I think) Mac.
