I just saw a 30.06 sign at the entrance of the forth worth zoo when you pay for parking... Not sure if it's a conforming sign or not, was going to look it up tonight. I'm waiting for my plastic still but I'm noticing and looking everywhere I go now :-)

...do a search here on "Ft. Worth Zoo", and you'll find out we've been monkeyin' 'round with this problem for awhile...

Found this, but I don't know if this truly means private non-government ownership or not.
"Who owns the Fort Worth Zoo?
The Fort Worth Zoo is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization run by the Fort Worth Zoological Association. In 1991, the Fort Worth Zoological Association assumed management of the Zoo from the City of Fort Worth, forming a successful public-private partnership."
Probably already posted somewhere but here's the link.

...says the same...privately owned since '91...I found it while the Zoo had me on hold trying to find someone there that knew...they said "That man's not here today"...

Not privately owned. Privately managed. The City of Ft Worth still owns it, much like the Dallas Zoo, I believe.
Nowhere in the language does it say the Ft Worth Zoological Association owns the zoo. It says they "run" it, and "assumed management" from the City of Ft Worth. A Wikipedia page about the zoo states: "In October 1991 the Fort Worth Zoological Association assumed management of the zoo under a contract with the city". This tells me the City still owns it and the Association merely manages it.

...Article II Sec 2.01 on page 5 of the actual contract says you are correct...the website is misleading...especially in its answering of the question: Who owns the Fort Worth Zoo?

City owned property, so 30.06 not valid. They have also tried to claim they are a 'school'. Unless they are accredited by the TEA and having regular classes to teach the gorilla's sign language, then I ain't buying that one either.

Last time I was at the Fort Worth zoo, the sign was way inside the entrance, AFTER YOU PAY. That is not effective notice in my lexicon.

Until they can 100% successfully keep all the wild animals (gorilla and human) secured, I'm carrying.

Whatever you carry won't stop a gorilla, unless you're very lucky or he's VERY slow

I was at the Dallas zoo last weekend and looked hard for the sign that others have seen. Could not find it at all.

I've found the unenforceable signs to be an ineffective deterrent to my carrying habits.
