A trip to St Lukes ER - 30.06 & a miracle!

Thursday morning I had the misfortune to have some chest pain in the heart area. Thinking ahead, I disarmed before leaving for the ST Luke's ER in Houston's Medical Center. When I arrived there was a 30.06 posted in white letters on a clear glass sliding door, chest height. Beyond the door was a police officer intently watching the door. Whither I believe white on clear to be "contrasting," I also believe St Luke's to be a teaching hospital, so felt my decision to not carry was correct.

The real surprise though was that two days of blood tests, CT scans, and Gamma scans or nuclear material twice injected into me, they said I was fine on the tests. The surprise is that the blood tests were quite different from historical measures. In addition my blood pressure is now normal with no medicine. Other long term organ damage now tested within normal parameters. Needless to say, I am confused and will be seeing my cardiologist again soon to get his take on this. I've never heard of such a thing after decades of not being in normal ranges. What do you think; was it the gamma rays? Any ideas?

Personally, I would give credit—and praise—where it is due....to the Author of our fates.

:iagree:
I had sugar and cholesterol tested yesterday, 125 cholesterol, 75 sugar. (Both are GREAT)
Blood pressure still elevated some, but much better than when I smoked (Pre-Thanksgiving above 160-ish/116 or so when the doctor said go to the hospital, do not pass go, go directly to the hospital ...)
Nicotine patches raise BP, so it's improving slowly as I go down the lower "steps" (120/80)

I quit before, but THIS time I resolved to not "look back"
Luke 17:32 "Remember Lot's Wife"
A short verse, simple to remember, which has the essence of:

Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
2 Peter 2:20-
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
So, I ignore the voice which says:
Numbers 14:4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
And ...Jude ...

In other words I exercised the first few steps of a 12 step type thing of admitting I was powerless over quitting and staying quit cigarettes, I quit numerous times, but couldn't "stay quit" but now, having been saved from cigs, I won't return like a dog to that from which I was rescued...

credit where credit is due.

Good morning! I wish a happy Sunday to all!

Just checked BP. Normal.

You guys are right. The Creator continues to amaze me at his ability to still give new gifts to me. After all these years of giving to me, GOD never tires.

Regarding the 30.06, I don't think I would want to be removed from an ER when I really needed it. Self defense by being unarmed in this case. ;-)

I also believe St Luke's to be a teaching hospital
You are correct.
