Sure is a lot of not carefully handling guns going around.
Drinking, not an accident?
RIP

I cannot consider this an accident. It is a ND all the way.
If you don't know what you are doing, leave it the hell alone.

Some adults need to heed the advise of Eddie Eagle
1. Stop
2. Don't touch
3. Leave the area
4. Tell an adult (that knows what they are doing)

"the weapon discharged"
Seriously? It didn't do anything. The fool was reckless and pulled the trigger.

You're underqualified to be Vice President.

Sorry I'm wrong. Friend shot Marine. Reading to fast. A Marine is dead, but at least he wasn't the one who was what ever the friend was to cause him to pull the trigger.

Weapons today are just getting too smart. Take this shotgun. The guy pointed the shotgun at his friend and it just discharged. This means that the gun was smart enough to wait until it had acquired a target (can't imagine the technology required for that alone) and then once the target was acquired it activated it's automated fire sequence program and discharged. Amazing!

One of my pet peeves is people referring to a negligent discharge by calling it "accidental".

An Iraqi war vet kills his Marine friend. I just don't understand why these stupid things continue to happen--especially between individuals who are presumably familiar with firearms. I can't imagine how many times these guys have gone through training before being deployed or annual requal

The guy who shot him was just charged with manslaughter today.
to Jumping Frog: I agree with you--this should not have been called "accidental." More like incompetent.

Yup, negligence for sure, but still by definition, an accident. Most "accidents" involve negligence on someone's part. Our language is what it is.
