Nothing urgent or anything, I've decided that I'm in the market for one and thought I'd see if anyone here wants to unload theirs. My budget is on the modest side, so if you're trying to sell your $5k rifle with a $6k scope, I'm probably not your guy.

Someone makes one that uses FAL magazines. If they function properly, then that's the way I'd go because FAL mags are cheap and plentiful!!

That would be Rock River LAR-8.

I know you said AR but I can't say enough wonderful things about my FNAR. .308 semi with 20rd mags. Factory Guarantee at or better than 1 MOA.
I have one, and may end up selling it one day if I run into money trouble (ammo prices). That aside, I recommend you at least take a look at FNARs in general. They are around 1K new, and at that time a 16in Bushmaster AR10 was 1000-1100, and I haven't looked back. I'm out of state at the moment, but home is also Plano.

When I bought my M1A a couple of years back, there was an FN-AR on the shelf next to it, and they were both priced at $1,729.99.

As far as the other kind of AR10 mags, they're not that hard to find. My AR10 has a DPMS lower, which shares magazine configuration with the KAC SR25, DPMS LR-308, LWRCI REPR, Larue Tactical OBR, Bushmaster 308 ORC, Lewis Machine & Tool MWS, Remington R-25, POF P-308, JP Enterprises LRP-07, G.A. Precision GAP-10, Les Baer 308 Semi-Auto Rifles and other rifles that use the SR25/ M110 pattern magazines, as well as taking the 20LR Pmag. The only mags it won't take are those for Armalite AR10s and the RRA LAR-8.

Anyway, my rifle came with 4 DPMS mags and 5 Pmags, so I'm not hurting for magazines right now.

All of that said, I was ready to pop the money for a RRA Standard Operator, but they were unobtainium at the time.

Not true. I had an LAR-8 and could never get FAL mags to work with any consistency. I ended up buying about 30 different FAL mags (new, old, IMI refurbs, you name it!) and only the RRA mag worked without issue. I eventually to RRA to task on it. On one phone call they admitted that the FAL mags MAY work....sometimes. Yeah, between that, all the misfeeds, and that they didn't have any extra LAR-8 mags to sell me (metal or polymer), I sold that jamming queen. My RRA in 223 is great, but I'll never touch another 30-cal AR platform. Maybe other brands are different, but the RRA was not a good experience.

On the up side, I now have a pile of mags for my FAL.

Hey, does anyone know anything about scopes?

Nikon is releasing the M308 this month for .308 caliber ARs. I have 2 Nikon M223s and have been VERY impressed with them.

Yea, I plan on picking one up for my ORC as soon as they are available; I recommend the Nikoplex for ease of use.

$900 + tax for the rifle, two 19-round mags, two 20-round boxes of "match" ammo, a sling (which I find baffling), and one of those ~$30 plastic cases. It looks to be in pretty good condition, but I won't know until I clean it out after I get some sleep.

And all was actually looking for there was a cheapy pocket pistol (which I failed to find).

1. first focal plane reticle (means your subventions are valid at all magnifications. On a second focal plane scope, the reticle measurements are only valid a halfway magnification, or at 10x on the Nikon scope.)
2. 30mm tube
3. .1mil adjustments exactly match mil subtentions on reticle
4. reticle has matching windage measurements, the Nikon does not
5. Texas made. You are buying direct from the manufacturer and "middleman" pricing is cut out. SWFA scopes would sell for considerably more at their quality level if they were made by the other manufacturers.

The $1,500 SWFA scope I bought for my AR10 was more than equal in clarity and brightness of the glass than Leupold and IOR Valdata scopes costing $200–$500 more, the reticle was easier to use, and it is illuminated, which the better Leupolds were not.

The last SWFA scope I bought was a 10x42HD fixed power I had mounted on my old M1A, and it was a great scope. You really can't go wrong at the various price points with SWFA scopes.

Pretty sure SWFAs are made in Japan.

Take a look at the nikon AR line of scopes. They have a M-308.

I bought the M-223 for about $450.00 and i'm pleased with it so far.
