On the hunt for a Sig P225, but have questions..

As some of you seen my previous posts in the Firearms section of this forum, I'm looking for a Sig P225 (P6). I found one, but my brother had asked a very good question. If I needed a new recoil spring, parts, or anything of the such, how do I obtain one? I'm sure this pistol will put a lot of rounds down range because it will be in 9mm. Seeing that much action, I'm sure a problem will arise (just like any gun) in the future. They no longer make this pistol anymore, and looking around some forums makes me very cautious about getting one.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this pistol or questions I should be asking before I take the plunge? Thanks in advance, fellas.

No personal experience, sorry. What makes you cautious about the P225/P6s?

MidwayUSA is out of the factory recoil springs, but they've got all kinds of Wolff products.
Top Gun Supply carries both the factory recoil spring and the factory parts kit.

The Sig site also carries the parts kit.

How the heck did that run by me?! I didn't even see that and I thought I had searched everywhere. Shipping is 14 dollars = 40.00 total. Yikes! I'm paying more for shipping than the actual stuff I need.

Anyway, thanks guys. This was a big help.

Top Gun Supply http://www.topgunsupply.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; carries most commonly needed Sig parts. They provide excellent service. Orders usually arrive in my mailbox in 3 days. Brownells http://www.brownells.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will have almost any part for almost any gun, and also provide excellent service.

A lot of help and information is available at http://www.sigforum.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .

I have a P6. It's a great value. You may want to invest in a new main spring, to reduce the double action trigger pull, which can be pretty stiff. It was designed for hard military primers. You can learn more about that on sigforum. You can also get a DVD with good instructions on how to detail strip and reassemble the pistol.
