I'm looking to buy a Kel Tec SUB 2000 in 9mm that uses Glock17 mags.
Would prefer FTF in San Antonio/Austin) but am def. open to shipping if the price is right.

And to those looking in the Houston area, I believe I saw the .40 cal Glock version at Collector's Firearms for about $340-350ish. This was about a month ago so let's hope it's still there for anyone looking.

There was a 9mm Glock mag version at the gun show last weekend in SA. Don't recall the price but I think it was under $400.

I'm the odd duck out I guess. I had one and sold it.

Sure thing.

It fed reliably, went bang every time I pulled the trigger, and was decently accurate.

Like some kel tec products, it FEELs cheap. I never had any trouble with it, but it is plastic, and people have reported the front sight breaking off. I wouldn't take it to war or run a carbine class with it, but mine seemed to do just fine.

I sold mine for 2 reasons.

1) I'm a leftie, and every shot sent a back blast of hot powder into my face. Not a huge deal when wearing shooting glasses, but in a SD scenario being blinded by your own gun isn't ideal.

2) I just couldn't find a situation that I needed it for. Yes, they're easy to conceal...but so is an AK with a folding stock.

Basically...any situation in which I'd feel that I would need to deploy the sub2k, I'd feel MORE comfortable deploying something in a rifle caliber.

Yes they're concealable when folded, but once folded out to deploy they're just as long as a rifle, but without the extra "oomph" of a rifle caliber.

I'm not saying you shouldn't get it by any means. I had a blast shooting mine, and felt it was a good value for what I paid (under 400).

I just didn't have a "place" for it.

I recently acquired one. Shot it in the only IDPA-style carbine shooting match I've competed and it did well enough against ARs at CQB distances.

Mine HATES 115-grain 9mm ammo - 6-inch wide groups at 50 yards.

But 124-grain - especially NATO or +P - is surprisingly accurate. Not AR accurate, but on par with an AK or Mini 14 at 100 yards (longest I've shot it) and ideally suited for 50-75 yards.

147-grain is acceptable, better than 115 but not as good as 124

Not a single problem with functionality so far - feeds and ejects reliably every time.

fit and finish us typical of Kel Tec - my biggest complaint is the metal finish. I left mine in my vehicle for about a week (my purpose for this is to have a shoulder weapon in the vehicle) and it already had good amount of surface rust on various screws and especially the recoil spring tube/stock and charging handle.

So my solution has complete disassembly and Duracoated all the metal parts. So far so good with the new "paint job".

FWIW, I called them about 2 weeks ago and they didn't have any in. However he called me back and told me I could place an order for $350 and he said 1-2 months.

I had one and here is my experience.

I was having ejection issues and the cases were jamming into the polymer feed ramp. I made the mistake of dropping the mag, locking the bolt back, and fishing the case out with my finger. The bolt (which is not held in the lock position very well) released and promptly smashed the heck out of my finger. It was my own fault, but really cheesed me off. I ended up sending the gun back to Kel-Tec and they replaced the whole thing. I sold it after I got it back. The only other gripe is that due to it's folding design, it's sort of hard to see though the sights. A buffer tube pad is pretty much a necessity if you value your teeth.

Carroll's is really good about getting stuff like that in. That's a good group of guys.
