Its only NCIC checks.
So since we don't require one for private sales, or CHL holders...our numbers look low.

Texas has so many guns and so many gun owners that the for last 2 years gun owners slowed their purchases.
I believe the NICCS is not an good mark for gun sales. "Hello my friend, can I buy your gun?"

The state I find interesting is Kentucky. Each year, now, KY ranks first in the nation in NICS checks.
For example, in 2011, Kentucky processed 2,280,832 NICS checks, for a rate of 78,703 checks per 100,000 people. This is a state with a little over 4 million people. In comparison, Texas had 1,155,387 NICS checks.
Looks impressive, eh?
Scratch a little deeper however, and it turns out KY processes a NICS check for every CHL each month. Yep, you read that right, they run monthly checks on every licensee.
Ridiculous!

No. Most of their gun sales are over the internet. The FFL on the receiving end is the one who performs the NICS check on the buyer. Bud's would only be running NICS checks on people who actually come to their store front and pick up the gun there.
