So we all remember the John Edwards "I feel pretty" video, right?

Well, Newt feels pretty too. How does Newt's hair stay the way it is? Callista, hairbrush, and 2 cubic tons of hairspray. Oh, and make up lady.

All the politicians go through makeup before a TV appearance.

And so do actors, the program hosts, newscast reporters, etc. Basically anyone that appears on TV. Move along, nothing to see here.

Of course, but seldom do we actually see the primping and prettifying that takes place prior to the "action." I don't care about newscasters and actors getting made up, but there's just something a little unsettling about knowing that the top leaders in this country are men who wear make up on a semi-regular basis. Do they go and wash it off after the interview or do they walk around the rest of the day with the make up? And the total, complete, compulsive
obsession with making sure that
every single last hair is in the right place is just creepy. So is Callista.

Did you know that the Icelanders have a Christmas story that involves fairy tale monsters? What kind, you might ask? Well, you'll just have to look and see, but there are thirteen of them.

Wait, wait! I know this one! The Yule Lads?

I appreciate the persistence and the distinctly Nordic slant, but the areas of creativity and wittiness still leave plenty to be desired.
