Supporting a Good Cause

I know most of you don't know me very well yet, so I'm hoping this isn't out of line. (Mods, if it is, please feel free to delete or move.)
In January of 2010 my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Last year, he raced in the inaugural North Texas Head for the Cure 5K after a year long treatment of chemo and just five months after double ACL reconstruction.
He placed 46th in his age bracket, ran the race in 52:28, and placed number 777 overall (there were over 2400 participants!).
He's doing it again this year (minus the chemo and double ACL surgery), and I am racing with him! Team Brain Cancer Battle (Team BCB) has been formed as a way to raise awareness and support those battling this terrible disease.
We would love it if you would consider making a small donation in honor of Luke, to help us reach our fundraising goal of $2500 for Team BCB. Proceeds from the race benefit the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative and the Legacy Brain Foundation.
We would also like to encourage anyone interested in running or walking in the race to register with Team Brain Cancer Battle. We currently only have a total of 8 team members, and we would love to grow that number!
You can visit Head For the Cure to view our personal event page. You can read more about the event, register to participate or make a donation.
We also have a Team BCB Facebook page, where we're posting updates and team news, so come on over and check us out.
Please feel free to pass this personal web page on to your friends and family so they can learn more about our fundraising efforts.
Thank you so much for helping to support such a worthy cause!
