Let me see if I can find a way to say this in a polite manner. May those who did this find themselves in perdition. However before they exit stage left I hope that they find themselves afflicted with aliments and sorrows comparable to those they have wrought on this poor man.

Maybe it's just me but I'd have to call that alleged attack a racist hate crime. So, where are the champions of racial temperance and love now? Where is the media that caused the Trayvon uproar?

Its not the first instance in which someone has gotten beaten up/harrassed and told it was "for trayvon" either.

Of course, the sad fact is that those who are so willing to casually visit violence and pain on their fellow human beings would do so far any reason, so I don't feel that the Martin case has caused more violence as much as given scum one more reason to justify their inexcusable behavior to themselves.

If they weren't yelling about travyon as they beat someone up, it'd be about "respect" or "the moon is in the wrong position in the sky" or for a "bit of the old ultraviolence"

...some people have mob mentality all the time...just waiting for a safe, helpless target...which most of us will not provide...

Anyone think Jackson or Sharpton or any of those other yahoos that screamed racial profiling will be as quick to stand up for this man if at all?

What is the difference between these black kids who beat up an innocent white man in the name of "justice for Treyvon," and a gang of brown-shirted nazis beating up an innocent jew on behalf of "justice for the fatherland?"

Simply put, there is no difference.

Both are motivated by racism.

Both are angry over an imagined cause.

Both resort to violence in pursuit of this imagined cause.

Both are full of hatred.

Both are illiterate scum with criminal mentalities.

No difference.

If the good guys started shooting the bad guys in the act that would be justice for ALL.

This is another article I forward to my friends who wonder why I always carry, even in the "safety" of my own house/yard. That situation would have been a whole lot different had it been one of us in that front yard... hopefully with a more peaceful ending (meaning, nobody dead or beat up and the angry mob going home after deciding its not worth their life to prove some point).

from that first article linked it sounds like this neighbor was kind of a neighborhood jerk in his own way. Using kitchen knives to chase off kids who are trying to get their ball back is crazy man type stuff. I could understand the parents anger over their kids being threatened with kitchen knives but it certainly doesn't justify a mob beating. Now they've made him the victim instead of their kids.

The "victim" Mr. Owens may not be as innocent as originally thought...

Owens reportedly has a long rap sheet in the area, the station reported. He's been booked on charges of assault, domestic violence, harassment and public intoxication in the past.

Even if he isn't an upstanding citizen and has had a troubled past just because he couldn't keep his mouth shut is no reason to be beaten to a pulp like that when he was severely outnumbered.
The retaliation didn't equal the loud mouth's initial actions and I think charges should still be filed even if just simple assault.
They did congregate and go seek him out after-all.
