I have a situation that I didn't know how to address and I figured some of you guys (Especially Chas) out there would have the answer. I have a gentleman that would love to enroll in my CHL Course coming up, but he says that he has an issue that he's run into before. He stated that he was in an accident and he doesn't have readable prints on two of his digits, but he stated over and over on the phone that he has a Class 3 Security License. He stated that he's had to use L-1 FAST before because he's had to use them to apply for other things. They've told him in the past that he couldn't get his fingerprints there because he's missing prints on two digits. Anyone out there have a solution for this or see this happen before? I remember hearing someone at the conference talk about this, but I can't for the life of me remember how they solved this. Thanks so much.

That thread is a bit dated--it pre-dates L1. The issue here seems to be with L1

If a person has no prints due to accident, or amputation, we just get the prints we can and notate the rest on the record.

FBI CAN ask us to reprint the person up to 2 times, but with proper notes on the record, they should not.

So, should I just take his prints physically and send them out myself? I'm gonna have to go talk to them and get the whole story, but L1 seems to think that they cant even take his prints. Thanks for the help.

DPS will not accept inked prints. They have to be submitted by L-1.

If the L-1 office says they cannot do it, they need to contact a supervisor. We have documented prints from people who were missing all 5 fingers on one hand due to amputation. Your guy is only missing 2 fingers? Should be a piece of cake!
