Lost Marine

I live in Archer City, a small farming/ranching, oil related town that has a neighbor town about 10 miles east of us called Windthorst. That town lost a Marine last week to combat in Iraq. The soldier's dad graduated with my wife in Archer City. Everyone is heartbroken over this loss, but everyone is also very proud of this soldier and his ultimate sacrifice.

Windthorst is a small, very tight knit group of Dutch/German descent. There are no war objectors here in this area and we support all of our troops. They are are hard working, patriotic Americans who do not deserve what is about to happen. The funeral is Saturday.

We just learned that godless group of people from Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas will be here to protest his funeral. See this link:
Soldier's Funeral
Please pray for this soldier's family that God will give them strength to endure this horrible protest while going through the worst tragedy of all - a son's funeral.

I am so sorry to hear of this Charlie.

We will pray for everyone affected, and I hope the family knows that most people are supportive and appreciative of our troops and the sacrifices they make.

I will refrain from posting my feelings about those misguided souls from Kansas.

We will pray for the family. It is ashamed that these groups carry the name of God in vain. This soldiers family deserves the honor his memory without interruption from a heathen crowd as this.

Please know that I will ask my friends to pray for this family, and their extended family/friends.

As for the Westboro Cult, they should thankful that I am *not* God.
Granted, they are deceived beyond measure....but.....!!!
Let's just leave it that on Judgement Day, I hope they have SPF 10,000 sunblock.

Once again we are reminded that there are good folks, heroic folks and evil people. Our prayers go to the good folks and the heros who protect them and us.
