Texas Parks and Wildlife Building

I tried searching the forum but not much luck. All searches returned many hits but none seemed to be relative.
I talked to a Parks and Wildlife Hunter’s Safety course instructor on Friday about taking the course. During his spiel about what to bring and etc. he mentioned “No guns no ammo, period.” I regretfully asked “What about those that has a CHL?” He proceeded to tell me that that he believes it is statutorly off limits because the building is owned by Texas Parks and Wildlife. He then said something to the effect, besides we don’t want anyone shooting themselves during a hunter’s safety course… It just would not look good. He then said, you must leave it in the car.
I believe he said the location is 1340 Airport Commerce Rd, Building 6, Austin, TX.
I thought State Government Buildings could not be posted, except when a governmental meeting was on going, or some sort of court was being held? Is it possible that the building is off limits for some other reason? Is there a way to confirm that the building is state owned? Should I be concerned about safely carrying during the Hunter’s course… E.G. is there something I will be required to do physically that might make pocket carry unsafe? Because he told me no CHL, is that effective notice… and can he give effective notice for a State Building?
Thanks.
