Can anyone recommend a decent UV flashlight? I've found a scorpion in my house & I would like find a decent UV flashlight for 'hunting' them at night.

ghostrider, I have been doing this for years. It's the only solution I know of to keep them at bay. I've given them to my neighbors also. It's the local sport ;)
I've bought all mine off ebay for around $10.

The one I have right now looks like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/41-LED-Bulbs-UV ... 35bc939e71" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It works adequately. A quick walk around the house after 10:00 does the trick.
I'd prefer brighter.
I think I would try one of the 51-LEDs you will see listed is you search ebay for "UV Flashlight"

At $10 each, buy a couple. I keep one by the back door and one on the bedside table.

BTW, our indoor-only cats probably kill as many as I do. In the house, they alert us when we are home. If we aren't home, they take care of it themselves, but they probably drag the process out a lot longer than we do.

thanks.

I see Amazon has several to choose from also.

We just found another one in our kitchen this morning - in the sink this time. :-0

This one I put in a plastic container to see if I can identify the particular species.

Yeah, we find one in the sink every now and then. Great way to start your day

Yeah, let us know the species. I think the best I could tell was some sort of "bark" scorpion IIRC, but I never was certain.
Or more correctly, I didn't want to study the nasty beast that closely ;-)

Home Depot has one I think I'll try:

What about UV filters? I have a couple of "tactical" lights that have UV filters which slip on over the lens of the standard bulb.

that would be great if I could find one for a Surefire 6P, but I will probably get the Home Depot light anyway, cause I kind of need a light 'now'.
:-)

At first glance it appears to be a striped bark scorpion.

Lots of good information there. I think I'll bug-bomb the attic this week
In my experience, the first week of blazing hot weather is when they really start coming in the house.

One of the lights I have filters for is a Surefire E2D Outdoorsman.
