More than 40 shootings were reported during the four-day weekend. The city has had more homicides and shootings so far in 2012 than during the same time last year, according to unofficial briefing summaries prepared by the Chicago Police Department.

And this is happening as Mayor Rahmbo touts his anti-gang strategy success. As the American Thinker writer Rick Moran said "It's not like Chicago cops are incompetent. They're not. But whatever deployment plan they have in place, they better change it or Chicago is going to become known as the Murder Capital of the US."

And where is Mayor Bloomy in response to this problem? I can hear his reaction now. When the toughest gun control laws in the country don't get the job done, the answer is....... more gun control laws.

They should put up a sign to make it stop.
Maybe a camera...
and another law...
Make the signs in a bunch of languages ...

Hey, it's not THEIR fault, it's the fault of all those other states that don't have strict gun control laws. Really, a liberal utopia is just around the corner, if we just let the libs control ALL aspects of life for a little while.

In fact, according to the Department of Defense and FBI data, the number of Chicagoans murdered is two and a half times U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2001.

If only someone could take the Chicago leadership to task. I'd blame the voters of Chicago for electing Emanuel but I personally don't think that they did. Machine politics 100% controls everything there. I"m not sure that control stops within the Chicago geography.........

Agreed, same for NYC. 99% of the people in the city could be against whoever is running, but it wouldn't matter...and they'd never know it anyway. Who's going to tell them that so many others don't like it either? "The free press"?
