NASA telescope headed for Palestine vanishes

Millions of dollars worth of equipment.

PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - Some University of Minnesota students are scratching their heads after several years of research, in the form of a high tech balloon telescope, has vanished.

Well that's odd. I wonder who stole it, and how much trouble the driver is in?

They found the trailer unopened somewhere here in Dallas. They didnt say where, and not sure exactly why it was.

The trucking company fired the driver, so you can kinda guess that he probably didn't do what he was supposed to do.

this is more common then you think, driver run out of time in their log books and have to stop for some crack and next thing you know 3 days pass before he comes down off his high

Note that the report is out of Palestine, Texas (pronounced Palace-steen, not Palace-styne).

It wasn't destined for the Israeli's favorite neighbors.

Yet they insist on spelling it in such a manner as to cause people to say "Palace-styne". I mean, really, if they can't be bothered to spell it right... :mrgreen:

Well, same thing in eastern Collin Co.
There is a small city called Nevada(Na-va-da) with a hard "A" as opposed to the state out west, Nevada(Ne-vaa-da) with the soft "A".

Hey I got what you were saying, and to be honest the first thing that crossed my mind was "why are we sending a telescope to the Palestinians?".

That's not accurate for the 99% of trucking companies that are reputable. I've dealt with thousands of drivers over a number of years and have not experienced that situation.
