I must admit, I spent an inordinate amount of time clicking through these boards for the entirety of the wait. Yet, here we are finally at 'Mailed' before I register.
I don't know how some of you managed to wait for so long, I'd have gone nuts.
For posterity's/comedy's sake I recorded not simply status updates, but every time I checked. I'd have probably checked more if I hadn't read here previously how long it takes!
But alas...

my background check appears to have been atypically quick. Not complaining (nor bragging!), mind you, just a bit surprised.
Wonder who actually does it; wondering as I had a background check for something work-related relatively recently, so if there's some colossal database of "yeah, this guy is kosher up to and as of mm/dd/yyyy", it might have expedited the process.
I haven't had a traffic ticket in nearly a decade, and aside from a single parking ticket nothing else on my record. Surely that didn't hurt either. *shrug*

went to mailbox. JACKPOT!

Positively giddy. Now, to go buy a new wallet so I don't lose the bloody thing.
