Loads like a .22, did not realize that.

Yep. I thought I wouldn't mind that, but after shooting it (and loading it) I just do not care for it.
It's a fine rifle for those that don't mind the weight and the loading system.

You are right about the loading system. I own one of those and it is kind of unusual that it loads like a .22 rimfire. But like you said, it does shoot very nicely, with that little extra weight recoil isn't just low, its almost non-existent. And the action on it is really, really smooth even with .38 Specials. I consider mine part of a faux "Old West" set when combined with my Ruger Vaquero in .357/.38; I bought them at the same time when I got back from the sandbox some years ago. Now I might just have to make a range visit with both of them...

I won't say what I paid for mine a few years back, but it was the "California price"...at what you are letting it go for, that is a truly great deal for a great carbine...

BUMP for the weekend and a further reduction to $550.00.
This is the final reduction. If it does not sell by the 30th I will just keep it.

Alan, I'm real tempted. That's what I paid you for the Marlin .357 a year or so ago.
