Renewal Question

I thought I had all my ducks in a row, but I confused myself.

It is my understanding that as of May 1st 2010, finger prints and photos are no longer required for renewals. Is this true for folks who got their CHL prior to this date (2008), or only for folks who get their CHL after the 5/1/2010 date and will be renewing 5 years later?

I found a class close to me and they told me I will need to go to an L1 facility and get passport photos.I don't think they are right, but I figured I would check with the instructors on here.

ETA: Do I need to send in my DD214 again? Or will they remember / note that I am prior military and had the discount when I first applied?

You do NOT need photos, unless you want to update your photo on your license.

You do NOT need fingerprints, unless the ones you submitted with your previous application are not classifiable.

You do NOT need to send in your DD-214 again.

If DPS does want any of these things, for whatever reason, they will contact you. Otherwise, just send in your class completion form and the checklist with the barcode on it.

Thanks so much Crossfire!
