heh heh

If you know me, you know I'm a huge fan of Advantage Tactical sights (no affiliation with them)
Always had them on my Glocks since they came out and Ayoob tested them.
Last week got them on my new Stainless XD45

and ... NOW

I just ordered them for my Stainless Taurus PT-709
(I just found out today they make them for it)
So I may have a new pocket backup (well, I'll take it out of the safe) and retire a Keltec PF9
(I can use the sights to rack the slide easy with only 1 hand operation...Quicker sight acquisition too.)

I made a pocket holster for the 709 this morning :mrgreen:

If my brother quits borrowing $ from me, I may get some 1911s to put those sights on :mrgreen:

Now, I need to order spare mags for my XD45 :lol:

I may be selling all guns that they don't make sights for, but glad I didn't sell the Taurus yet since they do now :anamatedbanana

by the way, there's a small grip extension by Pierce grips, http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/31028359-1.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but I just ordered a couple extra long ones
http://garrison-grip.hostedbyamazon.com ... ion=submit" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

None add to capacity yet, though Taurus promised/originally advertised ...

ordered my xd45 mags too

someone needs to hide my credit cards while I'm online watching govt hearings .... glad Holder contempt report will go to the full House now. ;-)

XD45 (With thumb safety, Stainless, ported extended barrel, Advantage Tactical Sights, of course)
Glock 19 (That one I got in 1989) ported extended barrel, CT laser, Advantage Tactical Sights, of course
Glock 26 (Glock 19 magazine with Pierce +3 mag extension and soft rubber mag spacer=18 +1 rounds) internal laser, ported extended barrel, Advantage Tactical Sights, of course
Taurus PT709 new ATS sights (and the grip extension review below.)

Yellow front sights, orange rear, except on the Taurus, I thought I'll try green rear a while, I'm sure I'll probably switch to orange rear later, I like the yellow front, orange rear, always have. Works well no matter what color shirt a target has on, and well in low light/backlit I still can make a triangle/pyramid.
My camera flash doesn't do the sight colors justice, I'm not a photographer.

Now any of these can easily be operated with only one hand
(I was about to sell the Taurus for that reason, until I got these sights)

The Taurus slide is easy to rack now, much safer for me to operate than it was with the cheap plastic factory sights.

And making the triangle/pyramid (sight picture) or finding the front sight ... is fast...

These sights have multiple angles in their design, hard to describe but ...
Top photo, note the angles on the rear sights, these don't dig into my side like square sights did. Much more comfortable, less likely than Novak "snagless" sights to snag while drawing due to the slopes (see bottom photo).
Image
The very center of the rear sight's pyramid is taller to allow one-hand slide operation by racking on a belt/holster/shoe etc., yet angled so as not to unintentionally snag on anything ... as I said, hard to describe, easy to understand when using them
Image
Bottom photo On the Taurus you can see (sorta) the angle of the green rear sight is less likely to snag when drawing now (my pocket holster has a seam the old sights would snag it, these don't because of the slant/angle)

First day impression on the extra long Garrison Grip extensions on the Taurus PT709 went on easily, and let my whole hand get a grip; they also seem to hold the pistol in upright position in my pocket holster better; beats the beejeebers out of the tiny Keltec PF9 type finger extension.
