Clustered small group of resisting fighters against a well equipped Russian-armed army.
More or less the same scenario in the movie red dawn.

Russian Bipod-mounted Semi-Heavy machine gun. Degtyarev( spelling?) in 7.62x54R. I will look it up for you.
It is
NOT Degtyarov DS-39 machine gun (USSR / Russia) or one of countless variants.
More info:

After more "inspection" it is be the "newer" 1943 Gorjunov, the Degtyarov design was problematic and preceded the Grojunov design:

Thank you. I've heard of it before...same cartridge as the Mosin, I see. I guess it would be like shooting a Model 1919...you read about GIs doing that kind of stuff in WWII, but I'd never seen anybody shoot that size machine gun like that until now...

Best weapons and methods for the resistance should be ATGM or RPG-27, snipers, and IEDs and swarming tactics on fixed positions.

Isn't that pretty much a 24/7 activity in that part of the world?
