Since the Supreme Court has ruled that Obamacare is upheld based on Congress' power to tax and rejecting the argument that the law violated the arguments on Congress' authority to regulate interstate commerce... What do ya'll think about the possibility that we might see Federal tax legislation (or a regulatory change bypassing congress) that either makes gun owners pay higher insurance rates or tax the snot outta us on ammunition, storebought firearms, or equipment?

Democrats have floated the idea of taxing ammunition before so I wouldn't be surprised.

Thankfully, a tax would have to be introduced in the House, which is solidly Republican held for now.

But down the road its certainly something to watch for.

The SCOTUS ruling yesterday set us up for all kinds of stupid "tax" laws to be written in the next few decades.

Exactly how I feel...it won't be a flurry of overnight, in-your-face items...but a slow erosion over many years, by utilizing the WEAPON AGAINST THE PEOPLE that John Roberts handed to them...they KNOW if they "come for your guns" that it would energize folks to do something...so they'll do it bit-by-bit, waiting for those of us who care to die off, and to brainwash the younger folks over time...tyranny won't happen overnight, but down the road...and when it all collapses, it will make the demise of the Roman Empire look like the corner store going out of business.

Now it's the best time to invest in precious metals: brass, nickel and lead! Demand for these will increase in months to come...

The obamacare ruling is irrelevant. If they can tax NFA firearms $200 they can tax any firearms any amount they want and require a CLEO signature to boot.

That's been in effect for 78 years. Talk about "under the radar", 1934 was also the first year that pulsed radar was developed. So it was "under the radar" before radar even was.
