So sad. But we are all mortal and death comes to us all. He lived life as well as he could.

I will never forget back in the early 60's the first time I ever heard him and Jim Neighbors sing togeather. Couple of guys that I thought could never sing like that. WOW. Even as a young kid I was amazed.

Especially Jim Nabors! I was a kid when my Mom and Dad and I heard him sing on the Andy Griffith Show. We all thought another voice was dubbed in.

My wife and I got to see Jim Nabors headline at Harrah's in Reno, Nevada.

We planned a weekend in Reno to see Loretta Lynn who was opening the night after we arrived. We liked him in Gomer Pyle, but weren't big Nabor's fans, but we decided "what the heck" and bought tickets to see Jim Nabors at his closing show. He put on a very entertaining show - music, singing, dancing and comedy. We were staying at the hotel and got seats right up close to the stage, even without slipping the maitr d a twenty. The next night we saw surf singers Jan and Dean for a $15 [two drink minimum] cover charge in the lounge. Those were the good old days - $35 for a dinner show.

This is a real oldie for Andy Griffith fans - "No Time for Sergeants" co-starring Nick Adams [the Rebel] and Don Knotts. Notice "Corporal Klinger" from MASH as the co-pilot. It's still available on DVD.

One of my dad's (and my) favorite movies.

To this day, whenever a piece of equipment doesn't work, I just tell 'em to "spit in the back, and whomp it on the top!" :smilelol5:

Just make sure you don't become the "PLO". "rlol"

I was just about to mention the "PLO" scenes. That is probably my favorite gag in the whole movie.
