So i recently picked up a mini 30 and am looking to outfit it with a scope. Not interested in red dots or acogs as i want something with variable magnification. The will be a plinker with some nightime hog hunting thrown in. I was thinking about a burris fullfield ii. I read a review that said the vortex diamondback was hands down the best sub $200 gun. I have no experience with either of these. Any thoughts?

I'm a big fan of the Nikon Prostaff in that price range. You can find them for around $169 or so. It is on my .270 and has been dead accurate on every round I've sent through a deers neck. I got the one with the BDC reticle.

:tiphat:

ETA: Midway has one for $179, but you can find many Midway coupons online that will save the $$$.

I really liked the nikon that i looked at but didnt have access to a burris or virtex. According to thus guys review they far outshine the nikon, but u know what they say about opinions...

Give this a shot.
I've got one on my little Sig522 and I'm very pleased with it.
Yes, I know....mine is a .22 and yours is a 7.62x39 but I think for the price point its worth a try.
If you don't like it, then return it.
If you cant wait, these can be had at Academy for about 60.00.

The proof is in the pudding so to speak.
