The Carbon Tax has started in Australia, but they didn't get their loved one in the ground soon enough to avoid it.
Oh and BTW Australia also recently banned guns.
They are drinking the cool aid.
Shame it's a nice place.

Cheltenham Cemetery
Adelaide, South Australia
Old Port Rd
Cheltenham, Adelaide, SA
This cemetery re-uses cemeterial plots for new burials after the amount of time on each family lease. Some plots have 99 years, while others only have a lease of 50 years, and some 25yr. The headstones will be destroyed after a certain amount of time, if not claimed by a descendant. The plots will also be reused unless the lease is renewed. As a rule the family members try to raise the funds required to renew the lease.

Australian Towns Impose Curfews — on Cats

they’ll have to be inside from dusk to dawn,
“It's a small thing to ask people to keep their cats indoors if it means protecting our native wildlife,”
Years ago one place banned cats because they hurt birds ...then they got worried when the bird flu arrived ...
Actually their gun bans are weakening ... more licenses are being issued as people try to get back the rights they lost.

Sorry I was faked out by this letter from a police officer in Australia "Jul 21, 2011 – It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new ... And even with the ban in effect, those who can demonstrate a ..." snoopes says its all hog wash and crime has disappeared in Australia since then.
Further research shows it was 1996 with further restriction on length of barrel and caliber in 2002. And guns arn't banned either, just semi-automatic pistols. (don't need those) I think your allowed to have a 22 bolt action rifle with a restrictive may issue permit. And anyway Australian's have never had a constitutional right to own a gun.
But still a nice place.

Teenager charged over Sydney shooting

A teenager with alleged links to the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) will face charges in relation to a shooting ...
The teenager, who turned 18 last month, has been charged with fire firearm at other than dwelling disregarding safety;
Police say that two search warrants are also being served at homes linked to members of the Nomads OMCG. 'To date, Strike Force Kinnarra investigators have arrested 21 people and charged them with 40 offences', police said.
'Thirteen firearms have been seized, including three rifles, four assault rifles, four handguns, a machine pistol and a shotgun; about 2500 rounds of ammunition; and drugs.'
I recall reading about "bikies" having a gunfight
at an airport after they "banned law abiding people from owning guns"
(well, they could own them and store hem at police headquarters there)
And stories abounded about gangs driving their cars into a home (their version of a drive-by) then clubbing/stabbing the occupants

If you read the article and not just the headline, it looks like there was a normal price increase on the first of the month that had nothing to do with carbon or taxes or guns or tinfoil.
The clerk who allegedly said it was a carbon tax was mistaken or confused or lying.
