Ok, its not about guns. But it's still a guy thing.

The car will be repaired good as new. Probably because of the publicity car will be worth more after the accident. My guess they will spend 2 to 3 million on repairs.

Three people injured, wife of driver has a broken leg.

See your wife now prefers your gun hobby to your 31 million dollar car hobby.

Here's what it looks like without the racing paint job:

You have to remember that this car was designed in the 1960s, and back then it was considered a very sexy car...........and it was. It would have been the equivalent at the time of a Ferrari Enzo—a pretty high performance model. A neighbor of ours back then had a 275 GTB, all black, and I remember that he would come out in the morning in his bathrobe, start the car (which was just sitting in his driveway), and go back inside for another quick cup of coffee while it warmed up. He'd come back outside 4 or 5 minutes later, dressed and ready, and jump in the car and go. It sounded SO good to a teenaged boy who had to walk or ride a bike everywhere he went. But as desirable as a 275 GTB like my neighbor's was, the 250 GT was much more so.

There was never a large number of these cars produced, and there's only 39 in existence today, so that's part of why they're so blamed expensive.

you know what, that actually looks pretty nice. I'm just more of a fan of the middle class version of an old sports car. The paint job in that other picture is an abomination.

It certainly is, and beautiful too, but it is not a sports car. The Ferrari was the epitome of sports car.

BTW, this article is 4 years old, but it is about the top ten (to that point, anyway) most expensive car crashes ever:

Chris, I think that first picture is not a GTO, it's a 250SWB or something similar. the pic from the rear quarter is a GTO

Had to come up with the appropriate Crocodile Dundee malapropism. I wrapped one of those around a tree in 1965, head on, and the tree never twitched. Not a multi-million dollar wreck, but it taught me a priceless lesson.

I found it in Google images, and the website the picture came from identifies it as the GTO: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... 0-GTO.html.

After Tiger Woods' crash, all the other golfers wanted to know what club Mrs. Woods used,
because they had tried to beat him for years. :-)

That is one beautiful machine.

Speaking of machines that are insanely expensive/rare/I'll never own, I've always been partial to the Grand Prix/Formula cars of the late 40s/early 50s.

I'd love to have an Alfa Romeo 158.
