Carrying on the Rio Grande.

This may have been discussed before and I never saw it. If so please bear with me. It may be worth discussing again for others that don’t know.
What are the laws and considerations on carrying a gun in a boat on the Rio Grande and Falcon Lake? Are there any areas on the North Side of the border where a CHL cannot legally carry? I am speaking mainly of Texas.
Any info on N.M. or Arizona would be interesting.
Forget California.

Rio Grande and Falcon Lake

(I don't know about these guys, it isn't the US Army Corps of Engineers, ...)
PO Box 1
Falcon Heights, Texas 78545

That's controlled by IBWC so I dunno, but for reference ...
Texas waters
Ch Sec. 46.02 Penal Code
(for concealed carry in a watercraft, even without a CHL under the MPA)

My personal common sense response:
There's other places to go, less risky. Unless your job etc is requiring you to be there.
You know not to go to the Mexico side. A CHL does not impress the Mexican Police, no matter how good your photo is ... and the fast little boats and jetbikes with the full auto pirates don't worry about a little semi-auto

I don't own enough fire power to be down there.

That's what the new DPS gunboats are for ... they can have those fish, I'll stay around LCRA lakes
I see that the guys who fish there don't go at night ... if you must go, you might get a group together.
Colleges always say "Safety in Numbers" I figure some see that as it means more wallets and cell phones in one spot to get though

That's about the only way I would go to the DMZ that Holder and Obama created on the border.

Thanks for the info. I just retired and will be moving to West of Corpus Christi. I may make that trip. I knew a guy that used to fish Falcon and he raved about the fishing.
As far as the danger, a guy can get killed in Laredo or anywhere. I am not going to worry about it. Just going to have a good time. I may take a little extra with me that would clear another boat in one or two seconds up close.

Considering what the corrupt Mexicans did to Tommy Bean (of Vidor), Mexico will never see my shadow again.

True &
IF I am on the border (& you see that is a
BIG if) it wont be for fishin or fun. That area is serious business.
Did a Spechal CHL class about a yr ago for a business. Big hunters. Asia, Africa, too. They hunt on a ranch that is on the border & the land owner has 4 Border Patrol that work their off duty hrs guarding his hunters.
Ill hunt & fish at home.
BTW I have some fishing gear now & am starting to fish again some.

I too will stay out of Mexico but I will
not allow scum from another country to dictate where I can and can’t go in
my country.
They don’t want to mess with this old man. I will violate their “civil rights”.
