How long is 60 days?

As I understand it, DPS is "required" to issue an approved license within sixty days. But............does this mean sixty calendar days or sixty business days? Inquiring minds want to know!

Not that it makes any difference. I'll get it whenever they get around to sending it, right?

20 days and counting. Or is that 14 days and counting?

In case you haven't noticed, I'm not a patient person!

Unless a statute states "business" days, it means calendar days.

The Legislature says it's calendar days; DPS claims it's business days.

But there's more to it than that. As I understand it, DPS also claims that "upon receipt of completed application packet" doesn't mean when they receive the packet from you; instead, they say it means upon return of all background checks, FP checks, etc.

Hmmm....is the dog wagging the tail, or is the tail wagging the dog?

I sent mine in around the same time as you (recieved on 20 Dec 06). I got my PIN last week. This doesn't really answer your question, but gives a reference. I saw on a post earlier that the Lady at DPS said "a little over 60 days". Good luck, and maybe we'll be proudly walking through Wal Mart soon!

DSarge...

Based on a lot off other people's posts, they received their CHL not too long after getting their PIN. Sounds like your wait may soon be over!

I still have a ways to go..only about three weeks in at this point. They have had my $140.00 for about 50 days, however. Unfortunately, that doesn't count though.

When the time comes, I'll probably do my celebratory walk through Academy. I try to avoid WalMart whenever possible.
