One Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting in Dallas
Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday night in a South Dallas neighborhood after one person was killed in an officer-involved shooting.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown said in a press conference Tuesday night that Officer Brian Rowden shot James Harper during a physical fight while Harper was trying to flee.
The press release said that the officer shot in fear for his life after he was losing a fight with the man that was running after a 911 call about a kidnaping. He chased the man over 3 fences and then they began to fight when the officer was losing he shot him

Not enough details yet.
My gut instinct is to always side with the officer....initially.
If details come out later that it was a bad shot then I'll change my stance but for now if you run from the cops, fight the cops and resist the cops you get what you get.

The caller said a man had been kidnapped and taken to the house. Brown said the call could have been made by a rival drug gang and that Dallas police had been caught in the middle of a drug feud.
"I don't doubt that this was bogus and that this was some rivalry, and that we got in the middle of it -- being drawn in through this bogus reasoning," he said. "This 911 call doesn't make sense, the way it came out."
Neighbors told police the house is a known drug house. Police found crack cocaine in the house, the front yard and the side of the house, Brown said.
I also wouldn't put it past someone else in the neighborhood, not in a gang, to have called because they were fed up with there being a drug house in the neighborhood and the police not doing enough about it . I gotta side with the officer on this one from what we've got so far.

I love the "He could have just winged him" comments!
If they would have done that, he wouldn't have to sell drugs...he could make it a few years from the money that the lawyers didn't take.

what I find funny is they say the cops don't do nothing to help them , then they bust up a drug house chase a guy and have a shooting, take a couple of punks off the street and now they are wrong. The guy had a long history of crime and he chose to fight. It will be a no bill by the GJ

These folks are upset because their drug source was taken away.

Waiting for someone to say he provoked it by getting out of his car.

Later last night in a press conference, the Chief said there are two families in that neighborhood that are both involved in drug dealing, that have a feud going, and they believe the other family was probably the source of the 911 call. In an interview, Councilwoman Davis denied that the Dixon Circle area was a high crime area with drug problems and was not unsafe. That got some looks from both Dwaine Carraway an the interviewer.

Maybe she meant it was not an area with JUST drug problems. They have plenty of issues with assaults, shootings, etc.

They should fire bomb that entire area. It is nothing but gang banger dope dealers and hookers. Another poor innocent criminal that looks just like Obama's son, if he had one he knew about.

You really do need to stop holding it in and learn how to express yourself. It will make you feel much better.

Somehow it's possible to mass arrest militia members when a government provocateur gets them talking about violence, but it's impossible to arrest gang members who actually do violence. Go figure. It almost makes you think that the government wants violent gangs to exist.
