Grapevine TX Volunteers in Police Service Win National Award

We went to the annual awards banquet for our small city's police volunteers last night. I no longer volunteer but my wife does so I was her +1.
The Chief was very proud to announce that our VIPS program won a national award for "Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement Volunteer Programs". The other two winners this year are Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC and Fresno, CA. I don't know why there are 3 "winners" but I checked and over 50 cities had submitted applications for consideration for this year's award(s).
Chief Salame and his officers, (and the volunteers of course), have worked hard to make his volunteer program a success. I just wanted to give them a shout out!
