hi, im new to the forum and and am a texas resident currently stationed in camp lejuene NC... i kinda have a dilema on the legality of if it is legal for me to carry in NC, i know the states have reprocity, but im under different circumstances and just want to cover myself... long story short, and this is my question: i am a texas resident and currently have a texas chl, and i used a texas id card to obtain the chl. they both have matching TX addresses... the reason i didnt use a TX license is because i dont have one. i have a NC drivers license with NC address on it. is it legal for me to carry like this? all texas requires is a texas ID or DL not both to obtain a chl so i got an ID, simply for the fact that i need my NC drivers license more than i would a TX drivers license while im stationed here. in my welcome post a couple gents already said to carry on just know the NC chl laws... i just dont want to go to jail for having a TX CHL and TX ID with TX address and a NC DL with a completely different address on it then the other two if i ever get pulled over while carrying. thanks in advance. Doc,

If I recall correctly there is some sort of exemption for Military serving out of state in regards to DL's. I am not sure what the problem is that you are describing. You have a valid DL and a valid CHL (though from different states). I seriously doubt that any LEO will hassle you about it when you produce your Military ID along with the others.
