Home Security Updates Due To Recent Issues

Alright folks... here is the story:
Last night my wife and I, along with some friends, went out to dinner. Following dinner, my wife went back to the school to continue studying. Roomate, Roomate's BF (IXSLR8 on this forum) and I came home.
Later that night...
10:30- ixslr8 goes to work at the hospital and roomate leaves to go over and feed his dogs at his house.
11:00- Wife comes home. She pulls up to the curb in front of the house across the street, does a U-turn, and pulls in front of our house to park. As she is walking to the house,
the neighbors start spouting off about how she needs to park on her side of the street (which she did anyway) and how they are going to mess her car up and
mess her up if she parks in front of their house again. Wife ignores them, walks in, and informs me.
I debate going and speaking to these neighbors about the street being public property, and them not having any say in the matter, but decide not to. Instead, I call
roomate and let her know what happened, and advised her to park on our side of the street, and ignore the neighbors. Roomate agrees.
11:30- Roomate pulls in, parks, and is immediately mouthed at by neighbors saying essentially the same thing. Roomate comes in and calls police
12:45- Police come, are given the description of who did it (2 black females, 1 black male), and goes over to talk to them. Neighbors claim that we yelled at them, called
them racist names (wife is Asian, roomate is Hispanic), and threatened to cause damage to cars.
Police comes and speaks to us, gets our side of the story. I asked the officer what the neighbors said, and was told me ^ that ^
Officer says there is nothing he can do, and that he can't even take a report. I asked officer what he advises us to do and was told to ignore them, if the problem
continues, call it in. I agree. I ask officer to remind the neighbors that coming on to our property is trespassing, and that we would strongly advise that they steer
clear. Officer agrees to do so.
I inform officer that I will be installing game cameras. Officer thinks this is a great idea.
8:00 am- I take landlord our check for rent. Landlord also owns house across the street. Landlord is not pleased with what happened and informs me that he has been
having issues with these neighbors. Landlord ensures me we will not have to put up with them for much longer. I ask Landlord for permission to place game
camera in his tree because of the spectacular field of view that would be provided. Landlord agrees.
So, I will be going to academy to buy a couple of game cameras. They will be IR. We will see what happens. I could care less if they trash my car--I have insurance. I just want to make sure that if they do, I will have proof to press charges. I have read nothing but good reviews on the Moultrie M-80. It offers video/audio as well as pictures.
I will run one on video/audio and one on pictures. I'll keep y'all posted on how they work out....
