My imaginary friend who has a MySpace told me it would be a waste of time.

It's funny, in the 1980s and 90s when "Chat and MUDS" were a big deal they worried about "computer addiction" now it's the opposite.

I have a Facebook account. There are some nice people on there, and there are some very weird people on there. Kind of like what you meet in normal society.

There's been some study that shows many people who constantly check Facebook get depressed
when they see other people whose lives seem much nicer than theirs.

My perception of having a Facebook account is that if you have plenty of interesting things to brag
about - that's what you do. I resent Zuckerberg's (sp?) fishing expeditions into his users' data in order
to sell marketing information. I get enough spam as it is - why should I sign up for some?

Facebook wasn't bad when a .edu email address was required to register but it went downhill when they opened the floodgates.

There are two possibilities for this article: 1) it's paid advertising for Facebook, and the author is a paid shill, or was directed to write it by an editor who is a paid shill (my first guess), or 2) it's paid advertising for the surveillance state, and the author is a paid shill, or was directed to write it by an editor who is a paid shill (and the government has been paying "reporters" to do its bidding for a very long time).

I have a FB account because the daughters wanted one and it was, "Okay, I will get one too and you WILL be friends with your Daddy."

What's Facebook?

I really dont care for most of Facebook. Some of the things people post are nothing short of ridiculous. I do like keeping up with old friend and folks i dont get to see often. Other than that, it doesn't appeal to me.

I do find it interesting that employers look at potential employees FB's. What an age we live in!
