Arkansas authorities on Tuesday released a chilling dash-cam video showing the moment a young cop was gunned down by a pistol-toting thug during a routine traffic stop last year.
Trumann police officer Jonathan Schmidt can be heard begging for his life after getting blasted point- blank by gunman Jerry Lard, who was riding in the backseat of the car that Schmidt and his partner stopped in April 2011.
Lard, 38, sprung from the car after shooting Schmidt and began swearing and taunting the wounded cop and Officer Corey Overstreet as they scrambled for cover.
"What you got?" Lard screams, according to the video.
Later, Schmidt can be heard saying, "Please don't shoot me. Please don't shoot me again."
