"Presidential administrative National Security Strategy documents explain how to defend the Republic within domestic borders with suggested scenarios where a group of political reactionaries commandeer a prominent area of a town or city which requires that the US Army support local law enforcement..."
"While the initial powers are reserved for the state and local governments, and Posse Comitatus (PCA) restricts and delays the Executive Branch in enforcement, the current presidential administration with the aid of the Pentagon is seeking to rescind the PCA in order to facilitate control over domestic terrorism."

I expect all of the troops being mustered out, a good percentage will be looking for employment with law enforcement. I don't think that expertise will be hard to find.

True enough, and I wouldn't put it past him, but then such an act would suddenly negate the powers of all the governors in the country, republicans
and the crazy ones alike. I don't think that even a hard core liberal democrat governor would willingly relinquish those powers to the federal government, for the simple reason that some day, they'll have to deal with a republican president who may not agree with their position on things. I don't think that such a thing would survive a challenge either in Congress or in the courts.
So I'm not saying that Obama wouldn't try it. I'm just saying that he wouldn't succeed in the end.

Nice thought, but you won't find many states or cities who are hiring now or in the near future, so that expertise will be sitting in a Lowe's, or working in an oil/gas patch, or.... they won't be in your local EOD unit, whether that's with the fire or police department.

I don't know what to think any more. I didn't think there was a chance in Hades that the Unaffordable Healthcare Act, Obamacare, would be upheld by the SCOTUS. We are in upside down country.
