Usually Not This Quick....

You know how after an occurance, on the way home, you think of what you should have said? Too late then.
A couple of the grandkids were over, and my wife asked them what they really wanted for desert after dinner.
They both said 'Apple Pie', one of their favorites. She answered that she didn't have enough apples in the house, at which time their faces fell.
Me, being the helpful type, said that I would make a quick trip to HEB, and was there anything else she needed. She replied that seven or eight large Granny Smiths and a can of Eagle Brand milk was all she could think of. Off to the rescue....
I pushed my cart to the produce section and looked over a few bags of prepackaged apples. They seemed to be too small and not uniform in color. I looked further down, and there was a bin of large loose ones. I pulled the cart along, snugged it up to the counter to clear the aisle, stpped away a short distance to get a plastic bag and started selecting a few apples. A rather large woman entered the aisle talking very loudly on her cell phone, pushing her empty cart with one hand. With no items in her cart, it was difficult to control and she slammed her cart into mine, pushing mine into my side.

"Sorry, my standards have never been that low". She quickly grabbed her cart and turned the corner.
I figure this hurt her in more than one level, and for once I had what I thought was a decent comeback at the right time.
