When I did the online application I didn't list all of my arrests. I did list the most serious which was a class A misdemeanor for assault in 1995. The other arrests were for traffic tickets that I let go into a warrant and the last one was 8 years ago. I took my CHL class on june 23rd and mailed it in 2 days later. I'm still in background check as of this moment. I was able to legally purchase a pistol recently and there were no flags and no hold on my purchase. Just wondering what to expect. I wish I had found this site BEFORE I did the application. :grumble

If they find it you will be asked to furnish documentation verifying the final disposition of the case.

They probably could deny it because you "affirmed or swore" that you have not failed to disclose any material facts.

Traffic warents & arrest that long ago probably would not DQ you but hiding it might.

so i got an email from the dps stating " A detailed letter has been sent to you in regards to needing more information about one or more of your prior arrests." I'm guessing this means no DQ. So what will I need to do when the letter arrives?

Follow the instructions on the letter,
Probably detail ALL arrests and send copies of the disposition of every arrest.
Which means probably contacting the county clerk where each instance happened.
