THREE NEW CHL HOLDERS

I have encouraged 5 people to get their CHLs in the last 5 years. Don't give up on those you are encouraging to get licensed. The first two took a couple of years and just renewed. One took 5 years while one was waiting until he turned 21 and could afford a gun and the fees. The other took me about 10 years. Some people take longer to feel like they are ready so don't give up. It really is worth the investment of time.

It took my dad 3 years of working on me before I went and got mine. I have a couple of guns here in the house but it was at the point when I really felt like I needed/wanted a gun on me when I was out that I decided to take the class. I wonder how many people have taken the nudge from this last year and gone and gotten their CHL's. It will be interesting to see if 2012 will break Texas' number of 143K new CHL's last year.

Always listen to your Dad. They have been around a while and seen things.
I have three people at work that got theirs CHL this year.

My fiancee's plastic came in the mail last week.
She's a long way from her native Chicago roots.

It's always great to have more armed good guys out in the world. I think that person to person advocacy is a great way to spread awareness and increase the numbers of people out there who have the ability to resist the increasingly violent thugs prowling our streets. Kudos to all who take the time and make the effort to nudge people toward taking responsibility for their own safety.
I've managed to nudge one classmate off the fence and into the armed citizen ranks, and I've enjoyed taking a few others out for their first shooting experience. I actually enjoyed it enough to get myself off my tookus and finally get NRA certified to teach a few classes. I have instructor class next month :)

I've got +1 and 1. I talked one at work to get his CHL after procrastinating for a year, and my son is registered to attend class. We bought him a 1911 for Christmas and we removed his last roadblock. I can' probably get at least one more before the end of the year.
