Hello all,

I just wanted to say thanks for such a great site, I've been reading for a couple of weeks or so, learning all I can while I wait on my chl. Seems like ya'll are a good group with alot of knowledge for people to learn from, I know I have from the time I've spent on here reading.
I have many guns, I just never went and took the class because I was always at work, putting it off, etc. I had surgery on my ankle, I'll be off for a while, so I pulled the "trigger" so to speak. So thanks everyone for posting your experiances and ideas for myself and others to learn from, it's been a great help! This site helped me pick my holster, from Old Faithful, and I love it. I'll be carrying a Glock 23 in it when I get my chl next week.

I took my class at The Arms Room 7/30, Brian Mobley was great, and mailed everything off when I did my fingerprints 8/3. As of this morning my status switched to mailed.

Welcome! Lots of great folks and knowledge in here. I'm new myself and am soaking it all up!

Welcome. I've been on this forum for only a month but learned a heck of a lot. Very thankful for all the help I received.

gvmtcheeze... If you took the class there on 7/30, we were in the same class. If your status switched to MAILED, that was pretty darn quick!

I think that I'm going to beat y'all.... My plastic will be mailed on Monday or Tuesday morning.

I was the guy on the crutches, I only look like I have a record, LOL. Hopefully I have it Monday or Tuesday, I'll keep ya'll posted. I won't be doing a wally walk for a while, because it's a pain to carry while I'm on crutches.

I just got back from my PO box, it's still not there, maybe tomorrow...

BTW, I was the slimmer black guy toward the front of the class (by the door). Haven't been to AR in a couple of weeks (except yesterday when I THOUGHT I was gonna be able to shoot freely). Got a shipment of rounds in the mail last week. Itching to , but time hasn't been available lately. May go tomorrow during the day, while most are at work!

I'm still on crutches, but I'll be off of them next week, I can't wait! I'm gonna get a membership next week also, Arms Room just happens to be across the highway from where I'll be doing physical therapy, darn the luck, LOL. You shot next to me, I need ALOT more practice,

Chalk it up to being in a chair. But, I'll tell ya... I think IDPA will have you in various different scenarios (seated, standing, crouched, around corners, etc). I forgot the name of the lady I met there, but she took time to explain a LOT of what IDPA is & how things work on Mondays. I've only got 2,100 rounds thru my XD. Signed up for a membership, but not sure if I want to keep it due to extreme popularity of the AR. I don't see myself waiting an hour or more just to shoot. Haven't gone more than twice this month because of the wait time. Plus, fighting the traffic due to construction to get there SUCKS. Weekends are TERRIBLE around that area. So, I'd be "available" the two Fridays I'm off work per month. Just don't think it's worth the $$$ for ME. I'll think about it...

You're right about the traffic!!! I thought about TX City also, i haven't been there in years. I was told that they did some improvements but I don't know that for myself. If I check it ou I'll let you know.
